PRINTING
We offer a range of printed products from bespoke hand printed orders to bulk printing.
For shorter runs we use high quality digital presses (which use toner) while for larger and bulk print we use litho presses (which use ink). For fine art quality prints we use giclee printing which uses high quality pigment based inks and specialist papers.
The paper or card used can make a big difference to the finish you end up with. Gloss papers give a shiny finish, silk papers give a slight sheen to the finish and uncoated papers give a flat/matt finish. On some items such as business cards, menus, folder ect we can laminate them to give a matt, gloss or velvet finish. This bonds a thin film to the paper for a flawless protective finish.

FAQs
What Is Digital Printing?
Digital printers use powder toner which is fused to the paper using heat. This means that the print sits on top of the paper and is very slightly raised. The benefits of digital printing is that is is quick and can be used for smaller runs, while it is also waterproof and lightfast.
What Is Litho Printing?
Litho uses ink and requires a ‘plate’ to be made of the item to be printed. As ink is used, the print penetrates the paper giving a finer finish compared to digital. With litho, there is a minimum order amount due to the set up. Modern litho presses are now fully computerised and extremely efficient.
What Is Giclee Printing?
Giclee printing is used for fine art repoduction. With giclee printing, specialist injet printers are used along with high quality pigment inks that are lightfast, printing on to high quality acid free papers, many with a cotton base.
What Is Screen Printing?
Screen printing is the transfer of ink to paper, clothing or an object using stencilled silk mesh screen. It is a particularly popular technique for transferring print to clothing such as t-shirts but is also used for producing high quality posters and art prints.
